Join us for the fourth year of the coordinated RSPB Black Grouse Survey in Muirkirk. The magnificent male Black Grouse display to females at specific locations called leks at around sunrise – an early start but well worth it! We will be monitoring known leks from last year and covering new sites too. This survey is part of a long term monitoring project to determine the local population status and distribution of Black Grouse, a bird that has suffered long term population declines throughout Britain.
