17th April – Moorland bird Identification and Survey Workshop

Improve your bird identification and survey skills along with learning how to make your records available for conservation projects.

Recording birds in your local area is both fun and rewarding. Your help can contribute to understanding the state of bird populations and habitats in the UK. No previous experience is necessary just an interest in birds and the environment!

The workshop will include:
  • Outdoor morning session practising bird ID and survey skills near Cairn Table in Muirkirk.
  • Indoor afternoon session going over more detail on bird ID, entering records and analysing data.

The workshop will be led by Alan Wood, an experienced ecologist with Starling Learning whose specialist subject is ornithology and is also an active member of the Scottish Ornithologists Club.
